Apply Mascara

Although eyeshadows define and dramatize your eyes, only your eyelashes are in a position to actually reflect colour into the eyes. So, to emphasize the colour of your eyes, you must frame them with an appropriate shade of mascara.

For the best result: First look down and brush the top lashes from the roots downwards then look up and brush the top lashes upwards . Then still looking up, brush colour on the lower lashes.

Wait a minute for them to dry, and similarly apply a second coat. Finally, brush with a clean dry brush, to separate the lashes.

Mascara coats the lashes, making them thick, long, lustrous and more noticeable. Apply mascara to all of the upper lashes from one corner of the eye to the other, but sometimes this method may look too strong. An alternative and the method that we prefer is to just coat the outer two-thirds of the upper lashes. You can choose from 3 different forms of mascara - water-based, water-proof and the mixed variety. 

How to remove the mascara

While removing the mascara avoid the colour from going onto the delicate area below the bottom lashes. Hold a tissue under the bottom lashes and close your eyes.Roll a cotton bud dipped in a cosmetic cleanser over the lashes, taking the mascara down onto the tissue. Repeat till all the mascara is gone.

Tips for applying eye mascara:

Select a suitable color. If you have blond or red lashes then go for brown mascara. Darker-lashed women can consider brown for a casual look, and black or brown-black for more pronounced or dramatic lashes.

Begin with the underside of your upper eye lashes and then moving the brush slowly upward toward the tips of your lashes.

Wait for a minute for them to dry, and similarly apply a second coat. Let the first coat dry completely, then apply the second coat. Two thin coats look more natural than one thick coat.

Finally brush with a clean dry brush, to separate the lashes.

Forms of Mascara

They are three forms of Mascara.

Water Based Mascara :- Water based mascaras can be applied quickly and removed easily. So they are gentle to the lashes and eyes. But they won't stay for a long time, as the mascara smudges easily when it comes into contact with water, tears and perspiration.

Water Proof Mascara :- Water proof variety stay for a long time and is water proof and smudge proof. They are a good investment as they are resistant to contamination and can be used even years after they have been manufactured. But it takes a long time to dry and is difficult to remove the liner.

Mixed Variety Mascara :- is a combination of water based and water proof mascaras. These dry quickly and is easy to remove.
