Step 2:
Then, take one or two fresh lemons and slice it. Add the sliced
lemons to the water. If you are not comfortable with lemons, you can
also replace it with oranges too. Lemons offer amazing benefits to the
skin as they are rich in Vitamin C. It also rejuvenates and refreshes
the dull skin with its amazing fragrance.
Step 3:
Add mint leaves to the water. Mint leaves contain anti-inflammatory
properties, which soothe and calm the skin. The warm aroma of the mint
leaves not only calms and refreshes you, but also soothes the irritated
nerves and senses. It also controls oiliness with its high Vitamin A
content. It deeply rejuvenates the skin, making it soft and brighter.
Step 4:
Then, take a tablespoon of fennel seeds and add it to the water.
Fennel seeds work as an amazing toner and cleanser for the skin,
especially in summers. They contain high portions of Vitamin C, which
helps in rejuvenating the skin and also gives it a radiant appearance.
Step 5:
Take a tablespoon of green tea and add it to the water. Green tea has
many skin benefiting properties that will help in achieving a soft and
glowing skin. They reduce sun damage and inflammation. Green tea also
contains high portions of Polyphenols, which are known to slow down the
signs of aging.
Step 6:
All the ingredients are now in place. Next, take a large spoon and
mix the ingredients well. The water will turn slightly yellowish, but
don’t worry! The color is just indicative of all the herbs.
Step 7:
Take a towel and place it over your head, so that the steam won’t
escape. Check for the temperature of the water, it shouldn’t be very hot
as it might irritate and damage your skin. If you have very long hair,
you can tie your hair tightly to prevent them from coming in your way
while steaming. If you have excessively sensitive skin, then you can
steam your face for about 10 minutes. If you have combination to normal
and oily skin, then steam for 20 minutes. Close your eyes while steaming
and breathe slowly and relax. If you are getting uncomfortable with the
heat, you can take a few breaks to relax. Once done, pat dry your skin
and apply your toner and moisturizer to complete the facial.
Wasn’t this DIY tutorial easy to follow? All the ingredients used in
this facial are easily available and are loaded with skin benefits. You
just cannot go wrong with this one!
