trying all trendy hairstyles of the season.
Here are few useful
techniques for maintaining oily greasy hair right. These tips are
practical and can be used in daily lives. So go ahead, give a new life
to your hair.Fighting Oily and Greasy Hair
Tip 1:
Normal
shampoos are heavily loaded with chemicals. These might be the reason
behind your greasy hair. Try and use a baby shampoo, or a mild herbal
shampoo, or even better a clarifying shampoo. These are really mild on
your scalp and don’t weigh your hair down. Plus they are good for your
hair’s overall health too.
Tip 2:
Washing
your hair is good, but make sure you don’t let the shampoo sit on your
scalp for too long. This actually strips off your hair’s natural
moisture. Try lathering the shampoo on your hair strands, just a little
away from the scalp. This should do the trick for you.
Tip 3:
Rinse
thoroughly. Never leave any soap or shampoo residue on hair. It’s very
important to wash off every bit of soap lather remaining on your hair to
get squeaky-clean hair. The residue will not only make your hair oily
and greasy, but harm it too.
Tip 4:
Hot
oil treatment directly on the scalp works wonders for treating oily and
greasy hair. I am sure you are wondering how? Here is a simple
technique.
- Gently massage the oil into the scalp
- Rinse the oily hair thoroughly after ward
This
conditions your hair well by hydrating your roots. And by washing away
your hair immediately afterwards, you wash off excess hair oil while
retaining the necessary amount.
Tip 5:
Avoid
using hair conditioners completely or try and use conditioner only on
the tips or ends of the hair. Hair conditioners provide moisture. This
moisture only adds to oiliness and greasiness.
Tip 6:
Oily
hair has a natural shine. Avoid using shining serums and glossy gels on
hair. These are simply not required. They only add to your hassles.
Tip 7:
If
you find your hair to be oily even after shampooing, try a vinegar
rinse towards the end. Vinegar rinse is done with 1:4 ratio of vinegar
and water. Rinsing hair with this solution after every wash, helps a
great deal in controlling oiliness. But make sure you avoid putting it
on your scalp completely. Lemon juice too can be used instead of
vinegar. But the ratio then should be like more than half a cup of lemon
juice to one mug of water. This will also add shine. You will not need
use any serums later then.
Tip 8:
Avoid brushing your hair too often. Brushing actually makes the scalp produce more oils by stimulating the bristles.
Tip 9:
Never rub towel or scratch your scalp vigorously. This may lead to abrasions, oily dandruff or may excite the oil glands to generate more oil secretion.
Tip 10:
Try
dusting your hair with talcum powder. This will help you get an instant
matte effect and reduce oiliness for an occasion. But again, make sure
you shampoo after wards.
Here are a few more things to look out for
